“Jalpurush” Rajendra Singh Inspires Members
Stockholm Water Prize Winner and Magsaysay award Winner Shri Rajendra Singh, “Waterman Of India” was the Chief Guest at the 5th WQA India Meeting in Delhi. Dr Singh was facilitated with an Excellence Award on behalf of WQA India. Dr Singh, a man of selfless zeal and dedication, inspired members with his paasionate inaugural address. His message to WQA India, “ thoda logon ke hit me subh socho aur logon ke hit me shubh karya karo , laabh apne aap hoga.”
Live Update on the NGT Matter
Mr Pratap Venugopal, Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court, representing WQA India in the NGT matter updated members on the case. In spite of a strong and meaningful defense which has been submitted, WQA India members were urged to show greater sensitivity in the matter of RO reject. He advised members to begin educating consumers on the various ways in which RO reject water could be reused, and the same to feature in all written communication material of RO manufacturers. In the meanwhile the NGT has directed certain authorities implicated in the case to come up with their defense arguments, and the matter is subjudice.
Water Quality and Conservation – The India Scenario
WQA India launched its booklet on Water Quality and Conservation at the hands of the Jalpurush of India, Dr Rajendra Singh. The booklet contains essential facts about water quality, technologies and water conservation in a simple manner targeted at the lay person who will benefit from this information. The matter will be uploaded on the website shortly.
New Sub Committee Announced
A new Sub Committee was announced to formulate Professional Certification material for the Indian industry. These certification courses would be based on Indian conditions and needs of the industry in India. The responsibility of heading this committee has been awarded to Dr Sandhya Shrivastava, who will form her team and will look at various offerings in professional certification.
First Product Certification for Micro Standard awarded to Kent RO Systems
WQA India proudly announced the first company to receive the Product Certification for WQA India’s Micro Standard as Kent RO Systems. Kent would now be licensed to use the SEAL OF PURITY Mark on its products “Kent Grand Plus Mineral RO” & “Kent Pearl Mineral RO”
